IMMERSION  NATION  RATING

(why?) What is ‘real’?

It’s easy to think you know… MEOW WOLF asks if you’re sure. Just a few steps will bring you from one world into another -before you realize what’s happened. The mystery this strange place is woven into the set itself. And the deeper you go, the stranger it becomes.

What is Meow Wolf?

MEOW WOLF uses novelty and the unexpected. Everything you think you know is used to surprise. The sense of wonder that is often lost as you grow up, is found here. A tribe of artists and Game of Thrones author, George R. R. Martin have teamed up. Together, they take travelers who sets foot in their reality on a journey of discovery.

What it’s really like

Not everything is as it seems. You find yourself in a normal house, but even the kitchen appliances hold secrets. Though the mystery of MEOW WOLF is ever evolving you have a choice to make: Search for the secrets that might explain this world you’ve found or simply explore.

MEOW WOLF holds too many discoveries for a single day. You can wander in a forest of neon glowing trees and weave through a cast of surreal characters for hours. Then realize you’ve only scratched the surface.

Reports from the front lines of Immersion Nation are saying that MEOW WOLF gets busy. Very busy. Getting there early to avoid the crowds can help. If you hate crowds, some recommend getting tickets before you arrive & being there before doors open. This gives you as much quiet as possible before the experience gets busy.

This is a kid friendly place. Especially during the day. But on certain evenings, the experience is restricted to 18+ and the music venue within comes alive. Shows hosted here pull from a wide talent pool and run the gamut of genre variety. There’s a certain something about the creativity that comes out of the South West United States.

Double check the site or give them a call before you show up. As you’d expect from a team of artists, they’re always creating something new. Thus MEOW WOLF will shut down periodically to do major overhauls of the world within. The exhibit has got to stay fresh but double checking beforehand can save some heartbreak.

If Santa Fe is out of your way, word is 2 more locations are opening up. One in Denver in 2019, and one in Las Vegas in 2020.

A little spice and a little weird -mixed and shaken- in this corner of the world lends MEOW WOLF the texture of something historic. It could be argued that the Immersive Revolution found it’s tipping point here. Meow Wolf may very have been first spark that caught the kindling.

ImNation Quick Points:

• Closes periodically for renovation

• Created as a space for rebel artists

• Incredibly busy during peak times

• Locations coming soon to Las Vegas, Denver, and
