The desire to give audiences something meaningful is so much of why actors do what they do. Immersive theater allows actors to craft unforgettable and impactful experiences in a different way.

What is Strange Bird Immersive?
Strange Bird Immersive is a fusion of immersive theater and escape room. Their multiple award winning ‘The Man From Beyond’ room uses a Houdini Seance theme to drive the plot of a 90-120 minute experience. Inspired by the pioneers, Sleep No More and Then She Fell, they are using the escape room format as a starting point for more immersive experiences to come. Strange Bird Immersive has truly become a pioneer of immersion in its own right.
What it’s really like
When you walk in you’ll be greeted by Madame Daphne are and whisked into a tactfully meshed escape room & storied adventure. The high-skill acting allows new players to… learn the ropes without a long winded explanation video beforehand. Especially for escape room veterans, this is lovely.
You’ve been invited to…
…a seance. Your team is there to unravel a mystery and summon the ghost of Harry Houdini. Different from many other escape rooms, the incorporation of live character within the room allows the storyline to shape to the decisions of the players.
The room itself seems to breathe with history and intention. The level detail worked into the set is tactful and precise. Obvious creative expertise has clearly come together to craft ‘The Man From Beyond’, and hints at exciting new things to come from Strange Bird in the future.
Reports from the front lines of Immersion Nation are saying that unlike other escape room experiences, The Man From Beyond doesn’t have a timer. For the sake of story, the timer has been removed from the game, a major alteration of the traditional escape room model. This elegant execution of something quite unusual for an escape room is something that needs to be experienced.
Current shows: The man from beyond is now up and running! After a hiatus to move to a bigger location, the award winning show is back in action
Now that the move to the new location is finished up, Strange Bird’s thoughts are beginning to move to their next show -As of now, being called ‘Lucidity’
